The office of the Auditor General Local Governments is basically an Audit service delivery organ of Delta State Government over the accounts and activities of the 25 Local Government Councils in the state. It is staffed and funded by the Delta State Government and has the 25 Local Government Councils and their boards, agencies and committees as her scope of duties and responsibilities. It is headed by the Auditor General Local Governments.

 

STAFF STRENGTH

The staff strength of the office stood at One Hundred and Seventy 2007. This has reduced to One Hundred and Sixty Five (165) due to the death of a staff (Patrick alama) and transfer of seven other staff. Some Sixty-Nine members of staff have been involved in training inform of weekend courses, mandatory continuing professional Education (MCPE) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and mandatory continuing Professional Development (MCPD) of the Association of National Accountant of Nigeria (ANAN) and/or short term courses organised by the Directorate of establishments and pensions, Governors office Asaba.
